Amid intense heatwave across the Valley, Education Minister Sakina Itoo has announced the extension of summer vacations in colleges till Sunday.
Speaking to reporters, she said the move was made considering the current weather.
A final decision on school vacation extension will follow soon after reviewing updated forecasts.
College vacations were set to end on July 4, while schools are scheduled to reopen on July 7. The government is closely watching the heat conditions before making any further announcements.
